Full face helmet changes all sensory input
Did you ever put on a coat before going outside in the cold? If so, did you then spend all your time outside contemplating low temperatures and different types of coats jackets and other means of keeping warm?
Do you imagine football players spend the entire game contemplating their protective gear?
For that matter - since you obviously enjoy riding motorcycles, do you contemplate your motorcycle as you ride? At some point, didn't you need to make some choices - Get a bike or don't get a bike? What kind of bike?
I make a choice to dress in accordance with what I believe is an acceptable level of risk - before I get on my bike, so that I *can* enjoy the ride.
At the end of the day just "ride your own ride"!

Shame. The Arai would be lighter, have better liners, more peripheral vision....
I have an Arai and a Scorpion. I kinda like the Scorpion better (certainly for the money), but the Arai is better in terms of fit-n-finish

Haha, I'm not picking at you or singling you out by any means. Didnt mean for it to seem that way. If you feel more comfortable with a FF helmet, so be it, you should be comfortable. My question usually comes with the description that typicaly precedes someones choice to wear a FF. It usually starts out with "their safer", "you wont grind your face off" or something like that. I'm aware that at any given time, I could be involved in and accident. Be it in my truck, boat or bike, it really doesnt matter wich.. When I decide to ride, or first decided to ride, the last thing that came to mind was the safety factor. I do not plan to go down. Just like, I dont wear a life preserver on an airplane. I ride to enjoy the ride.
What made me post originally was my buddy. He bought his first bike last year. Every time I talked to him, he had another annalogy of a discovery he came accross. "The wind picks up when a powerline crosses the highway", "crash bars will save my legs", "the windshield is designed to flip forward when you hit it", etc, etc, etc...... Yes, I am aware of my surroundings and factors surrounding my ride, but it doesnt come close to paranoia. If it did, I wouldnt ride.. Again, not picking at anyone, just adding my point of view.
