One friend I have put 160,000........in like 3 yrs, been to 48 of the 50 states. He just got a remand motor after like 168,000, they called it a warranty issue and he spent $50.00 for the motor.
Who says that warranty is no good? 50 bux for a new motor? I WISH!
By the way 2000 Dyna Wide Glide, had the cam bearings and oil pump.......basically the whole lower front right side of my motor replaced, under a recall issue 0$$
I had 80,000 on a '95 Roadking, and it was running strong when i sold it. Only work ever done besides normal maintainance, batteries and tires was a stator at about 50,000, and a belt at 75,000.
Wife rode her '97 Lowrider and it never had anything done to it except maintainance, tires and a couple of batteries. She sold it to get a Heritage.
People are always throwing out this kind of crap. Just ask them when they last saw a 1948 anything metric. Or a mid 70's metric for that matter. And mid 70's was not Harley's golden years.
These things have been around for 103 years. Don't think they could have lasted that long if they were crap.
I sold my E84 FXRP at 88,000 miles. Up until that day, the only problem I had was when a wire broke connecting to the ignition coil.
I was stranded in the middle of Godforsaken, New Mexico for twenty minutes. That bike was sweet.
Tell the anti Harley folks to stick it where the sun don't shine.
i had a guy at work today tell me i couldnt get 30,000 miles out of my harley
i tryed telling him about the guys on this site and how much people ride now tell me how many miles are on your bike rite now
That's a good one. Have him pull on the other leg for a while as that one is long enough.
03 Heritage Classic with 28,000 on it so far. It will get another 5000 on it this summer. The rest of the time I'll be riding the Ultra.
