RocknRod , ya notice most of us who retired from the Navy , never seem to really "settle down" ..

My wife enjoys riding , but she'd be perfectly happy never leaving her five acre world over here ..

All the jobs I tried after retiring , never worked unless the hours were weird and I was in a position to be "on my own" while at work with no one looking over my shoulder ..

And I can pack up Bagger , and take off for a week or two and not give it a second thought ..

Been restless all my adult life , I guess the nav did that ...

I wanna know whats over the next hill or around the next curve ..

I'm a former Navy brat, does that count? My mom was one of them that packed us up and met him at the next port, even if it was only a few days, whenever she could. I'm the first to pack my bags and get the heck outa Dodge at moments notice. If it weren't for my kids...

Darn, all this talk of packing it up and leaving it all behind is aggravating my wanderlust. It's going to be a LONG school year and it just began.

Bagger, I respect you guys for all those months at sea, my pops was on a Destroyer back in the '50's. However, us Army Infantry boys get restless too. Had my roots planted for 4 years now and it's tough. Love living out of a bag, and not knowing what the next day will bring. I'm forcing myself to live a civilian life, but God knows it's tough.

I have dreams of taking off with our motorhome and bikes and just go from here to there, from there to wherever seeing this beautiful country. Only trouble is...we both still work, got a girl in college. But I'm thinking of becoming a travel nurse. I love to fantasize alot.
