So dad calls me Friday night and says he has an electrical issue and that the bike won't start. Said his lights flash but no power to the starter. So yesterday I was going to make time to look at it, but we had a little family reunion to go to first. So here we are with this big group of bike owners pondering what could cause it. Everything from a bare wire to a dead starter was brought up. Finally dad got pissed and just decided he was going to the stealer in the morning and just buy a new '09, and was gonna trade this POS in. Then, one of my cousins come up and asks what the problem is, after hearing the symptoms he says "turn your alarm off". Made the whole group of us look silly
He's only had the bike for a month or so. I didn't know it had an alarm, and he didn't either. Turned out he didn't know what the key fob was for so he tossed it in the trash! Luckily he was able to get it out before trash pick-up. Man, he'll never live this one down...lol.
Does your dad have a key fob for the car alarm? Hope he didn't toss it.
yeah no kidding. No, he's 70 years old and tries to stay a good distance from anything new. He orders his vehicles with the least amount of options possible. He was trying to lessen the bulk of his key chain and was tossing out things he thought he didn't need. He had never noticed the key fob before so it got eliminated. It's funny to think about.
