I figured a few of you might get a kick out of this, my last bike was a 20 year old softail so I'm still getting used to all the gagets on the glide, was gone on vacation for a week and had the bike locked in the garage with the anti theft system activated, came out early Saturday to take me nice ride and got on the bike turned the ignition on and hit the starter and nothing, deader than a door nail per say, figured something had drained the battery down while it set so hooked up the charger and went back inside, came back out an hour later and tried it again, still dead, nothing, but noticed the signals flashing when I uprighted the bike off the kickstand, then it dawned on me, pushed the fob a couple of times, flashers blinked, hit starter and fired right up. I really helps if you disarm the security system first before you try and go for a ride, talk about feeling like a bonehead. One thing good is I won't make that mistake again. Live and learn.
Here's another stupid sh*t thing to pull. I went out into the garage, unlocked the forks, laid the keys down on the work bench, started the bike and pulled out of the garage. I cruised down the street to the local gas station, shut it off and filled it up. Oh yeah, did I mention that it's an '08 ? It will go into lock out mode if the FOB is nowhere around. The security system works, it wouldn't start. Now I have installed the siren so next time- not only will it not start but the siren will go off when I try to push it off to the side.

I can see me going out early in the morning and pushing the bike up and a freaking siren going off. Probably scare the chit out of me and I would drop the damn thing.

You're right, it definitely startles you when that happens.
Welllllll, you're not the only one tryin to keep up with technology. Dissappointing thing though is when I forget to disarm it in a parking lot, the siren goes off but nobody seems to care. I suppose someone could just roll it into the back of a pickup truck with the siren screeming and noone would call the police or even take a second look.
90% of the cars we repossess leave with the sirens squallin...nobody cares

No one cares about an alarm except we want them to STOP... I think it should be a law that the alarm should (instead of noise) They should shout the owners Name, Address and Phone number.... lol
One of the biggest grinsI get is when I ride past a car with an alarm, and my exhaust sets it off. LOL I know the cars in the neighborhood that that will happen to, if I am feeling a bit blue, I ride past them when I get of work. LOL (BTW, I get off work at 2am. Serves them right for waking me with their darn lawnmowers at 7am on Saturday mornings. LOL)
