Why pay msrp

Just found out that the dealerships mark up the bikes 40%. Why pay full price?

I've bough my last 3 Harleys at or below MSRP. Were do you live?

When I was a GM of a HONDA dealer in JAX back in '73 the bikes were marked up 15%....

have no idea these days....... but we made most of our profit on service and accessories... probably the same today.

Worked in the shops in the past, last time in 2002. Depends on the model, there is more margin in some than others, but back then, there was about $4000 in it for the dealer on MSRP of a high end dresser. Now, outta that money comes the building, salaries, utilities, advertising, sales commission, etc. Believe me when I say this, dealers are not selling bikes to make money, they sell them to generate customers to buy the rest of their stuff, use their service and keep their allotments up. Sure, there's money in bike sales, but if all they sold were bikes they wouldn't last long.
