Aaargh. Help please, removing baffles from slipons
Hubby is out in the driveway trying to remove the 2.25" baffles I have in my Rush slipons, in anticipation of the arrival of some 1.75".
In between curses, he is asking "is there a trick to this" (removing the baffles)?? It SEEMS to be the packing that is preventing them from coming out. Anyone have any experience with this that they can share?
UPDATE - HE GOT 'EM OUT!! Vice Grip, piece of wood, long metal bar, rubber hammer with a dash of mild cursing, and they finally gave in. THanks for the suggestions!

Yeah, he had taken them off. He's down cellar now, and finally got the first one off. He had the baffle out part way, and put it in a vice, and somehow finally got it off. Let's hope the other one comes out. WOw. I can't imagine what will happen when we (he, ) goes to put the new ones IN ???!!!!
If the muffler is off try spraying some penetrating oil from both sides and let it soak in a couple of minutes. Try tapping it in a little to see if the lock bolt hole is a little raised up from over tightening. After that start working it out with a piece of pipe and a hammer.Good luck.
had the same problem with the SE II's that were on my FXDL....much cussing (it might not help get them out...but I felt better) and beating on them with a LARGE hammer and a LARGE punch..they finally came out
