I fail to see why it is such a big deal about us Northeners having to give up riding for a few months.Except for a couple of years, have lived hear all my life and love the 4 distinct seasons. There are all kinds of things to do year round up here all of them great fun.Besides that, also have other things that totally captivate my imagination.Think about this, that first spring ride is incredible every single year.Been doing it since 1962.
Uh huh.......... yeah, and we like lying on the beach in Arizona.
Kinda like......... if they give you lemons..........
I live in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada) and we ride when there is no snow on the ground... which is about 6 months of the year !
No really, I'm hoping for another month of riding (if I ever receive my heated liner before the snow falls).
I bought my bike this past May and riding is all I can think about. I will hate to have to put it away but I will be running to the warehouse to get it out in April.
One advantage to live here is that it is NEVER too hot to ride!!! I have to find a bright side somewhere.
I need to find myself a hobby for the winter...
It's beautiful in the fall:

Riding season never ends here in Northern Indiana. Some days you cant ride because there are 6 foot snow drifts but if it melts off a few weeks later and it gets above 30 riding season is on
I'm up in the Northeast and I rode till November 22 last year and stopped because of black ice. The cold don't bother me with a full face flip helmet and a good winter jacket/gloves but snow and black ice is a no go. However then I go south for 2 weeks where I can ride another 2 weeks more. Can't wait to retire. I've tried unsuccessfully to transfer.
