Having been in this forum for a while, I'm finally getting down to the last of phase of "the buying process". After reading several threads about the (un)reliability or the problems associated with the newer 110cc SE upgrade, I have finally decided that I'll choose the proven 103cc's here is the dilema---- what is the benefit of going with the big bore stage II opposed to the stage I. As y'all can gather I'm not mechanically inclined, but I do know that I want a little more than the 96 offers for the ultra glides.
I went with a 103 on my 07 and am very impressed, much happier than I would have been with the 110 and its costs. My 103 puts out 108 hp and 113tq. Have about 10k on it without any issues.
The MOCO has a campaign in progress updating all the early 110's. The majority of these owners had no complaints prior to the update. Frankly, the 110 out of the box really rips. That would be my choice.

Thanks to all in advanced
Well, the 'wife' may be buying into that line, but having been round HDs since the 60's, I'm suspect of your statement.
Let us know how that 'worx out'.
I personally do not have much experience with either of HDs set ups. I perfer to dabble in the after market. The 124" was Zipper built using the 'original' cases. (Paperwork is ezr)
I was just informed night B4 last, that Ultima is changing their 'top end', so they are having a 'while supplies last' sale on the existing 100's to 140's. IF I find out more, will post, for those that 'may be' interested.
I have read about some problems with leaking head gaskets and cylinder sleeves slipping on the 110" but I have not really heard anything from some guys that I know that have them. I haven't done much research into the 110" either.
now off the top of my head I believe I remember that the major difference between stage I and II 103" kits is the inclusion of different cams in the Stage II kit. The rest of the kit, big bore cylinders, big bore flat top pistons, high flow air intake and so forth is the same. Stage II kit gets SE-255 cams instead of the standard cams in the 96" motor.
I personally have not installed the StageII for the 96", I did do stage II on my 88" to get it to 95" and that came with SE-203 cams(I think it was those) and they did make a nice difference.
Now I ain't a techy mech so not sure how to tell you what the cams make for a difference but its something about the way the piston energy is transfered into forward motion.

I have to disagree. I looked into that route and for the $5k they wanted to do it (cases have to be split) the final numbers if I remember right were like 84hp 90tq. So for 2400 bucks I got a 103 that will smoke the 110. Besides the moco has to leave the catted mufflers on to be compliant.
I don't get it. My stock '07 RKC with a Stage I loaded up with a weeks worth of gear and the wife on back will run uphill and down hill at 80 mph all day long on cruise control.
