Default How to remove a oil cooler on a 03 Heritage softail

I'm tired of it leaking. I bought the bike with the HD oil cooler on it, so I dont know how to take it off. Is everything just a simple bolt on down to where the orignal area the oil filter mounts too? thanks

You got it right. Where is your leak?

I dont know for sure. We bought the bike with low miles from the dealer. I could see there was a small oozing oil leak in the cooler adapter area, I had the dealer fix before we bought. They said small hole in one of the lines, they fixed. well the oozing leaks back. So i kinda assume its the adapter gasket leaking because of a new oil filter install(COMMON PROBLEM?). I also dont like how one of the oil line is squezzed under the oil filter, I use syn. and have never needed a cooler in the past.

Personally I would replace the gasket and keep the cooler... your engine will thank you.

Once I remove the oil cooler adapter for the oil filter will I need to purchase the threaded stem the oil filter screws onto to put back to original spec.
