350 miles through Northern AZ yesterday sure made work a little easier today.

I'm jealous. Rainy and windy here now until next June or so. Looks beautiful!

I know what you mean. We did around 400 miles all over Arizona yesterday. Couldn't have asked for better weather. It actually made it hard for me to go back to work. I want to do rides like that every day!

What roads did you take Doghair? I have a second home about 30 miles east of Kingman in the mountains off of I-40... Beautiful country and much different than many people imagine when you say "Arizona" - they think of Yuma or some barren God-forsaken hotspot. The northern part of the state is much cooler and mountainous and forested in many areas over One Mile elevation.

I must agree, I've been riding in AZ for over 15 years and I never get tired of it. We took 87 to Payson, 260 to Cottonwood, feet up in Jerome for lunch, 89A/89 through Prescott down to Wickenburg, back to Phoenix. On the road for about 9 hours.

It was one of those days that stays with you long after you get home, prefect weather, light traffic, great company, no bike drama, got cut off only once.

That was one of favorite vacations.

A few years back, I flew to Tucson to visit a friend. He had a friend that lent me his Gold Wing. We took a trip from Tucson to the Grand Canyon and back. It was awesome. Arizona was so much fun to ride in because of the multiple elevations.

In the valley, it's nice and hot so we'd strip down to t-shirts. Then, as we climbed mountains, it got colder and colder. We had to keep pulling over to put more and more clothes on, then jackets. As soon as we started descending, we had to pull over again and again to remove articles of clothing.

There were parts of the ride where I thought I was in Washington State, it was so wooded and misty.

I just loved the constant change of scenery. Gorgeous ride!!

985 mile round trip!!

Been starting to cool off here in the Black Hills, would be nice to be a snow bird and migrate down there to AZ now and take advantage of the ridin'. Can't stand the summers there though, much like the winters in the north. Crossed the desert 3 times from AZ to CA and vice versa in the summer, no AC either. It was horrible too.....
