Almost dumped the SG this morning at a stop sign, most of you probably already know this but those white lane stickers/ stop line markers are incredibly slippery when they're wet. Pulled up to the stop line this morning and put my foot down on the line and almost split myself in two!

Here in the fall as the leaves start coverin the roads especially right under the tree where it hangs over the road.... Little mornin frost or rain from the night before can cause some interesting "Situations"
Got one to add, be really careful the first few minutes when it starts to rain, the water will lift up the oils on the road, and it can get real slippery.
Also careful in winter, the roads might be dry, but it might have frozen over night and what looks like a wetspot might be black ice.
+1 on the white marker lines
+1 on the manholes
+1 on the tar snakes
+1 on the leaves

Yeah, ran into the leaves this morning. I turned into a little old lady on those slippery suckers.
Bought my first Sporty from a chick who'd moved up to a 1200 Custom. Third night she had it, she rolled up to a light on a drizzly evening and slid over the pedestrian lane marker. Dropped it from almost a standstill, banged her up pretty good. Also, watch out for those steel plates in contruction zones, they're slippery as gorilla snot.
Another one to watch for is the oil buildup in the middle of a lane at a stop. A few years ago my son got a good laugh watching me try to get my balance after a close encounter.

Around here the state will spray tar on the road and dump gravel on it and call it paved. Its not to bad after the loose gravel is gone but try coming around the corner at 60 mph and have the road turn to gravel.Talk about spincter tightening.
Around here those damned DOT crews like to chew up the surface leaving 4" drop offs and etched surfaces with no signs until your on top of the problem.
Beware of the road, in all places and at all times. Danger lurks within.
