Why do people find it necessary to point out how old a thread is? To inflate post count? Wgas

Loved that dyna since I got it new and it did me well for 65K of trouble free miles .

Back then I just couldn't swing the fxstc, it was what I really wanted. Well I was getting bored I guess with the dyna because when I saw the fxstc that came in on trade for a 15 SG, I took a hard look at it.

Always said the next bike had to have a 103, well dang if that fxstc didn't just had a stage 4 upgrade done less than 15k ago it had 25k on it . Along with another 9k of updates from billet wheels, pulley and rotors , inverted forks to chubby ape's. Just to much to list, I guess he was also getting bored Lol.

Anyway I can say the Dyna is more nimble , 19" vs 21" tire and the rake is different also. If you find a deal get the Softail if not at least find a Fxwg. I just love the Hard Tail Look With out The Ride , Had 2 Of Them IN The 70's. Beat the crap outta me, to Old for that now.

Wish I could post pictures and my dyno sheet. I'm now part of the 100hp club , this bike has over 30k in the setup and glad it's not my money.

TAKE ONE OFF MY BUCKET LIST!

Ride safe!

Since here, the OP post 6 years ago asking for help. Spandex did not notice age and I jumped in below him. The next post about age was to stop it. Obvious, your the one who added 1 to 28? HA Keep up the good work. 100K gets you steak and lobster at Outback on Moto..so we all try harder. However, you can sign up to the thread ban post count and they will stop I think.

A stripped down soft tail no fluff. You want the 103 engine.

Does good information go bad after so many days?

I clicked on this thread to read about the differences, not about the threads age.

If you want a purty bike to look at -go for the Softail.

If you want to ride that thing-go for the Dyna

A friend told me recently a Dyna is what you buy if you can't afford a softtail but I love my Dyna. And she rode a sporty until recently anyway. Yes you feel the vibrations but then I'm a girl so no complaints in that department ! lol

Old thread but what they hell...

If it wasn't for the dyna wide glide I would prob have a softail. Dynas generally feel small to me accept for the old WG. None of the new dynas appeal to me so next time it will be a softie. Probably a heritage. I can dress my 02 WG up like a heritage if I want to travel but the new dynas just don't look good dressed up. Those chopped fenders don't mix well with a nice big touring seat when you need one like the older dynas did. The old ones were multi taskers I suppose in they looked good naked and dressed for a tour. New ones look like solo rigs only to me. Of course if you want a solo street bike they are perfect. I can't afford 2 bikes so I needed a 2 dimensional bike which the old WG does perfectly. Not to mention it rides like a Cadillac and feels big and sturdy like a heritage does.
