I have a Zumo 550 and love it. If there was one thing I'd change, it would be the interface for the XM Weather. On the Zumo, XM Weather only provides the graphics that you'd see on the evening news - cloud, cloud with lightening bolt, sun, etc.
If you opt to go with a non-bike specific GPS, look for one with the option of NexRad Radar on XM Weather. It would be great to be able to flip over to the weather screen and see just how ugly the radar image is for that black cloud on the horizon.
Garmin 2610 Streetpilot off of eBay for around $100. Weatherproof and durable case. Don't get the 2620 with a hard drive, get the 2610 that uses a CF card for data (good for shaky bikes).
You may have to pay extra money to buy the Europe maps and unlock them.

I have a 2610. Can't see the screen in the sun light. Plus it has no place to plug into the AUX jack on the radio. Had it hard wired into my old Goldwing and it worked great. Plus there is a clear film on the screen that came off of mine ???????????? Garmin wants $200 to repair. I figured I would add $100 to that and buy a brand new one. I'll just leave the 2610 in my truck

For those using the Lowrance XOG what is your experience with glare or bright sun? I was reading some user comments on the Cabela's site and, although they gave it generally high marks, viewability in bright sun seemed to be a problem.

Agree on the sunlight thing, I had to get the visor for the 2610s off of cyclegadgets. The sound doesn't bother me, I typically go off of the screen. If you get the Garmin OEM motorcycle mount kit it has a separate line for a headset to be plugged into, aux speaker, etc.
