Tell them you plan to buy a bike and that you wnat the $300 applied to the purchase when you do.

I wish I could, but sadly, none of the Harley dealerships I've spoken to can match the deal that I'll get while I'm in Iraq (through AAFES), so I think I'm waiting until I'm over there to pull the trigger. (pun intended

)

Las Vegas Harley told me $150/day for any Big Twin. Sportsters were about $75/day.

I have rented several times while on vacations. $150 is about right. I just include it into the cost of the vacation and I get to try different bikes. It's a win-win.

That's a normal rate. Sometimes the stealer around here that does rentals will runs specials. Maybe you can take advantage of one of those and save some cash.

Biggs HD in San Marcos, north of San Diego,,,,,$100 a day,,,,,best deal anywhere,,,they are closed on Mondays, so if you play your cards right,,,,,bring it back Tuesday and Monday is free

Have you thought about Demo rides? They have them twice a year at our local HD dealers. I don't know if you want to wait for yours to come along and if they'll have a Heritage to try but it's free.

I bought my Heritage without even trying it out and I love it! Good luck.

Some will haggle.
I rented a Deluxe from Adamec in Jacksonville, FL a month or two ago for $114 out the door including their insurance at $40 a day. I had it a day & a half.
It was a weekend too & they only had two rental bikes left that day.

It won't hurt to ask.
