Dude, dependind which bike you have that's the primary cover. Do a search on stiripped primary screws/bolts and it will tell you how to take them off. Now would be a good time to get polished stainless steel allen head screws from your dealer to replace them with. What bike do you have?
Stripped out one of HC's primary cover bolts, tried drilling it out............wrenching it out with several different wrenches, tried cutting it to fit a screw driver, finally after all that..........gotta pair of cutting pliers and grabbed ahold of it and twisted it out, took alittle while. I hand tighened the new bolts and no leaks after about 500 miles
Meatball,
Craftsman tools makes a set of screw extracters that look similar to a left handed drill bit. The bit bites into the damaged screw head when used in a slow speed drill. I have never used them so I can`t say how well they work. Good luck.
Well, I wil have to ask my dealer or dealers about that, HATE those damn torx..........guess they'd be okay if there was no torque behind them, just hand tighten.

You need to make sure you have a #27 torx bit. I have the 1/4" drive sears hardened inpact bit that works ok. But the allen heads are better.
