Coffee or Beer? (or both?)
. We like to drink some barley pop too, but too much of that makes my head hurt nowadays. I ain't gettin any younger, baby boomer ya know. I believe a biker coffee bar would be cool. I'll come.Steve[sm=icon_rock.gif]
And I've been to both Starbucks (96th street in Indy is where I work) and if I'm going to choke down coffee, Einsteins has much better than Starbucks... At least to my very unrefined palatte....
But ask me who serves the best beer (and you can't get good beer at a supermarket unless the supermarket sells kegs)...
My beer taste is much more refined than my coffee taste (instead of going into the Starbucks on 96th St, meet me in the Claddagh - it's right in front of the Starbucks)...
The dealerships in the group from whom I bought my bike all have a coffee bar. They serve free coffee all the time and you don't have to be in the shop buying, you can just go in and hangout.
At weekends there are free doughnuts and cakes etc. There is a charity tin on the bar and most people put something in. It is surprising how much is collected. Suitable music is also played.
Just wondered if any of the dealerships do the same on your side of the pond.
See... I didn't even go to the Cigar side of things...
I would become the largest distributer of Drew Estates Cigars on the East Coast while bringing Dunkin Donuts Coffee into the main stream coffee house scene.
I could sit there and drink coffee all day while smoking a Natural - Clean Robusto... I can do that...
btw... Sumartran wrappers ROCK!
As it is, if I do frequent a "biker" hangout, I'll just order a burger and a coke. It's all about the scenery and the company you're with - doesn't matter what you eat or drink IMHO.
being a computer geek by current profession it will also be a place with wifi if not a full blown internet cafe... We don't have enough of them down here.
I agree that the price for some of the coffee places can be crazy... Heck... And X-Large Coffee with Cream and Suger from Dunkin Donuts was $2.26 the other day...
And for what beer costs at a bar I can get it cheapers at the grocery store... Look at Yingling (sp?) as an example... I can get that for $3-4 at a bar and I can get a whole six pack for $4.38 at the store.
It not always about finding the cheaper beverage... Heck... there would be no restaurants if we just wanted cheaper...
I would just be interested in a "biker" destination were alcohol was not the centerpiece. I am sure such places exists... I just have not seen them.
A coffee house that caters to bikers is a GREAT idea. I know Sean & I ALWAYS stop at Starbucks when out on the bikes. And if we go out to a bar for beer we almost always stop at Starbucks on the way home too.

You could just take a whiskey flask and fill it with some good joe, and when your in the bar, dump the beer in the potted plant and fill the can with your coffee.

I can dig it. There's almost nothing I like better than chillin', drinking coffee and smoking a big maduro.

Yo Craig,
We gotta hang sometime. You just described the perfect way to kill an hour.
Only thing better would be to drink the Joe and smoke the mads while the Swedish Bikini Team detailed our rides.
