Thanx for caring enough to retrieve the flag, but that's NOT what "dying for the flag" is all about. Watchyerass!

Well - it was a wee bit dangerous, but it's not like I was on the freeway at rush hour dodging cars... remember the game called FROGGER ? LOL

It just made be a little sad...

ALWAYS be cautious!

Good for you, as that was the right thing to do....

Too many people these days have no respect for our flag, our country, or not much of anything else unless it's for their own benefit..

Couple years ago myself and another club member were almost arrested when attending a military funeral. Some of the "Phelps Westboro Baptist Church" idiots were also there, and one of their guys was cursing and stomping on an American flag.

Tried to ignore it (as there were many police officers present and I knew what would happen), but finally said heck with it. We went over to the guy, pushed him away, picked up the flag and told him that if he wanted to stomp on it anymore to come and get it...

Of course the police took us over to one of their cars, talked with us a bit, and told me that they would have liked to do the same thing but weren't in a position to do so and released both of us...

Too many idiots in the world and it's hard to just turn your head and ignore them..

I'd do the same thing, and be just as careful. It kills me to see the flag mistreated.

Far too many natural American citizens take for granted the blood that has been spilled protecting that reverend piece of cloth. Thank you my friend for retrieving the colors from the road, I have done the same.

I would turn around to pick it up also. In a safe manner of course.
