American Flag - What Would You Do?
Was in a little trouble for "discussing free speech" with flag burners before.
and proudly fly my SERVICEABLE flag year round (with lights, of course)... and have BOUGHT flags for neighbors that have UNSERVICEABLE flags flying...
As far as the "DISTRESS" signal of flying the flag upside-down... I don't care for BHO, but he is president-elect and I will defend him, as I defended my fellow americans...

No doubt that if a piece of cloth is fortunate enough to be given the stars and stripes, it no longer is just ANY piece of cloth - in some ways it is no longer cloth at all. It is a representation of the country we love and deserves the utmost respect.
I came up the stairs of my house a year ago to find my 9 year old son standing - alone - in front of the TV while the anthem was being played before a game. Had my socks on so he couldn't have heard me coming. I haven't done much right as a dad, but that gave me hope that at least I did something right! I believe my children understand the gratitude they should have for being born in this country. It isn't about being "proud" - there is no Biblical reference to "pride" I have ever found that uses the term in a positive way - it is totally about expressing your gratitude for the country, for the freedom, and for those that have served to protect them. We don't say, "I'm proud to be American" in our house, we say, "I'm thankful to be American". Thankful enough to stop and pick up a flag.

Amen! Well said. I would have stopped to rescue the flag too. as previously stated, far too many people in this country take for granted the liberty and freedom our flag represents. Thank you for stopping.
