I took down my flag when this country was stupid enough to elect Obama and it will stay down until he is history.

Won't take mine down, or the POW/MIA flag. But maybe it is time to start flying Old Glory upside down.???? Guess the problem would be that the liberals would not understand. Heck they are the ones that think flag burning is free speech

That's a very cool thing you do, and I would most likely do the same. However, I would suggest you be extremely careful about putting yourself in harms way in retrieving a flag in a situation like this. It would certainly be a shame if you were to get hit by some inattentive moron.

+1 on stopin and retrievin our colors. as far as any other use for the flag other than proper display it is wrong and as the bumper sticker on my car says

If you must burn our flag please wrap yourself in it before you burn it.

I refuse to take down my American flag for anyone. I will not display my American flag upside down for anyone.
I understand that it is important to show respect to the American flag, but I feel it is
also a persons right to disagree.
If I see an American flag on the ground I will try to retrieve it. If a flag is displayed in a manner I feel is not 'serviceable' (torn/tattered/faded), I might try to make contact with the owner. If you display it upside down, or below some other flag...I will just assume (I know what ASSUME is) that you are a jerk, and move on along.
Common sence goes along ways. If you retrieve a fallen flag, hopefully some youngster
may see you do it, and learn from the action. It might be the only education about respect for the flag they get.
