I rode up to Henderson, NV, yesterday to see an old friend. What a great ride, about 300 miles total. I came up US-95. Spent the night gambling and eating good food on the Casino's dollar, and now I'm headed back. I'm going to go back on AZ-95, which will take me over the Hoover Dam. I've not seen it before, but I figure if you're going to see the Hoover, you might as well do it on a HOG.
My back is sore from yesterday, so when I swing by the Henderson HD shop to pick up my mandatory T-Shirt, I'm hoping (against hope) that they have a Corbin backrest in stock. I figure the odds aren't very good, but I'm checking anyway. Getting old sucks!
Sounds like a great ride. I wish the weather would cooperate here. I should be able to pick my bike up this afternoon (after tranny work) at the dealers. Cold and windy here. Tomorrow is suppose to be nicer.
Did the Hoover in the military days in a '67 V.W. bug from Pensacola to San Diego. Impressive chunck of concrete. Got to Vegas and was lucky to escape with my shirt. Gettin' old beats the alternative.
Sounds like a fun trip and I know what ya mean by getting older sucks. It usually takes me a little time to get my lower back into shape before I can make longer runs.

RE: Vegas, Baby, Vegas!
Great ride! We run into Las Vegas from our Bullhead house (about 90 mi) when we are there for a few days. Funny thing about Hwy 95, look forward and you can see where you will be in a half hour, look in your mirror, you can see where you were half hour ago.
Wife and I are Bob's Big Boy fanatics, they are building one in Las Vegas. We won't have to ride to Lake Havasu all the time anymore.
Sounds like a great trip! Sure hope you took the camera so the rest of us can see the sights.
And I know only too well about that getting old part, but its better than a dirt nap

Saw that place when I rode through Havasu. My father and I used to eat there in Maryland when I was a kid. I haven't seen a Big Boys in a LONG time.
Your description of US 95 applies to US 93 as well. Interesting, it is the same distance from Yuma to Vegas no matter which way you go...though coming down the AZ side takes longer with traffic.
