I used to refer to it as MAD (Motorcycle acquisition Disorder) with jap bikes as they were a less expensive therefore I could afford more of them but it has changed to CSFWI(Can't Stop Fuc&^% With It) Syndrome. Once I get it "perfect" I decided I need to change it all over again. Join the club. There is also BA(Bikers Anonymous). But be wary as it is a 12 step program.
Man, you must really be bored!! But to answer the question, I generally leave it alone unless something is in need of repair. At that time I may or may not find something I think I can not do without so it must go on the bike.
I'm far from bored...I am only home about 1 to 2 months out of the year total so I've been doing alot of riding the last couple of weeks along with my "Honey Do's".
I've been going out in the garage at night and pulling little things off, Bags, side mount tool bag, tank pouch, derby, cover amoung other things.
There was nothing wrong with the way I had it set up in fact I really liked it. Just can't leave it alone.
The wife did say she likes the way it looks without all the "crap" on it. I like it as well. I'm thinking about selling the bags and when I want bags again just putting a bigger set on.

Seems like it never ends.
I am with you on this one. Just flat enjoy tinkering on the bike. Not sure a shrink would help, especially if he owns his own bike!!!
I have an 03 duece that is exactly the way I want it. There is nothing more to put on it. When I get the itch to do something on the bike, I take it apart and give it a good detailing. This usually takes four or five days, and when I'm done, I'm good for about six months. For me the addiction is having wrenches in my hand.
Yes, there does seem to be a problem here. It seems many of you are in phase one. Phase two starts just after you purchase the storage racks. To be completely in phase two you must have two racks. One rack is for the new parts ready to go on and the second is to put the parts you take off.

I've been doing this since I got my first Harley back in 1969. Always seemed normal to me.
Now that I know I have a disorder that uses an Acronym to ID it I don't have to worry about it since if you have a disorder it's OK to do whatever you want and nobody can hold you responsible.
I'll tell the OL I went to the VA today and said that I have CSFWI and then she'll back off.
Thanks.
