I guess buying a rental is not much different then buying a used bike. You don't know how it was ridden or by who. And if the rider had the "lets see what this baby will do" mindset. But I would need almost the full warranty to buy one. And if the price was real close to new, I'd lean towards a new one.,,

Not for me. Rentals are a mixed bag....soemtimes you get a good bike..other times not. Problem is you don't know until you've bought it. Looks like you got a good one and I'm happy for you. With the money you saved you can give it right back to HD for parts/accessories! HD = Hundreds of Dollars.

I use to sell rental cars all the time... They came with the remainder of the factory warranty and most were 12k or less miles...

On a sixty thousand mile warranty that ain't a bad deal... I'd rather buy one of those than a lease return...

It is true that some people beat the $hit out of a rental, though I can not understand the mentality of why someone would do that... I guess it takes all kinds and those type of people have no respect for someone elses property...

Anyway... It would have to be a really good deal and just don't see that coming from a dealer...

unless I was buying it to tear down and rebuild...I don't think I would put that must faith in a rental...who knows what type of people have ridden the bike or what they've done to it

I've never owned a "new" vehicle of any kind and have no problems with it.
