I bought my first house a month ago and got the sporty a stable...an attached and heated garage. I moved in last week after closing just in time for the snow and ice to fall.
Came to work yesterday, first day back after I moved in. A meeting was called. They brought us in to tell us that our division (I work at a large natural gas transmission company) is about to be "optimized" and "de-centralized"....meaning most if not all of us will lose our jobs.....
If it is just most, I will probably make the cut. But there's not too much hope. Talk about bad timing.....
Yeah, the lack of work around here is what worries me. I was trying to leave WV because of that when I got hired on.....and no, heard no rumors of this one. In fact I think management was trying to just beat out the rumor mill this time.
Between this and the layoffs and Dow, Dupont and Toyota I think its gonna get pretty nasty around here.
