My 2000 Fatboy is smooth as silk. Check the motor mounts. Something is up if you are getting a lot of vibration from an 88b engine. You may also have a death grip on the bars. Try consciously easing you grip and relaxing your elbows. It lets the front end kind of float.
I get it when on the highways for a long ride, but I heard if you get some good grips it helps. I just suck it up and shake the blood back into them once in a while. Maybe I should try some ISO grips? Hey Santa if you're on here, you hear that? lol....
I am having the same issue. Handle bars and floor boards vibrate at a certain RPM. Mounts are all tight so I guess ill have to check the balance. Anyone know what the weights are supposed to look like?
Thanks for the input folks. I will go back to the rubber bushings, check the motormount points and get the counterbalance stuff checked I guess.
It's not the bushings. I have the polys on both bikes & there is no difference in vibration from the rubber bushings. Don't waste your time & keep the polys, they are better. Finding the real problem would be a better solution.

Have you checked the condition of your front tire? If it is worn and cupping you will feel more vibration through the forks and handlebar. My 2000 Fat Boy is smooth as silk and I have 85k on it. I also agree with the ISO grips, as they have made a big difference in hand numbness on long rides.
