has anyone ever used neapreme or any other bushings besides rubber
to take the wobble out of there bagger, and how well dose it work, and
how long do you think it would last. I am looking for first hand knowlage
as to whitch is better bushings or braces or both ?
First ride this morning with the TWR missing link, seems to make a lot of difference and the wind was blowing like 25mph or more. Taking the glide-pro kit out when my new isolator bushings come in.
I understand the glide pro kit works pretty good at reducing or fixing the wobble, but their is they also bring the vibration back into the frame, which is the reason why soft bushings are used in the first place.
The frame stabilizers work better for reducing the wobble because they only restrict lateral engine flex. Most of the vibration that we see in the handle bars at idle is in the longitudinal direction (along the length of the bike). The rubber motor mounts and soft bushings absorb that vibration to give us a vibration free ride. The solid bushings (Glide pro) restrict the flex in all directions, so the vibration comes back. The do help a bike handle a lot better, just at a cost.
both used together will create riduclous annoying vibration... i feel the rubber is fine but replace them at no more that 25,000 miles due to fatigue... install a stabilizer... thats as good its gonna get..
