Default EFI to Carb Conversion
I'm having more and more problems with my aging EFI system, and am considering converting it to a Mikuni 45mm Carb. If anyone reading this post has ever done it, did it work out well for you? I found a site that lists the procedure, and it doesn't look too complex.

A coworker made that change on his bike and hasn't had any problems with it. I would think the EFI system would be a plus on a motorcycle?

Can be converted quite easily according to some guys on this site, who have done it. I LOVE THE CARB., CHOSE it over fuel injection. CARBS have been around for ever, and seemed to have worked fine, until all this new technology came along. What did they use before FUEL INJECTION? Plus if theres a problem with your CARB, you can work on it your self on the side of the rode. Can you do that with fuel injection? NO, its off to the shop. Give me a CARB. ANY DAY. GOOD LUCK!

It was a plus, but mine had frequent problems with sensor failure since I've owned her, which may be because of it being among the earliest DELPHI EFI systems released. I saw that AMERICAN BAGGER has the procedure illustrated out in their Dec 08 and Jan 09 issues, which should be pretty helpful.

since the EFI models have a fuel pump and vaccum shut off, youll need to pet your ****

so it dont leak...

Ohhhhh, I was petting it all afternoon, and it has leaked quite a bit.
