Ditto...My SB has mid controls, which I prefer, but I also have highway pegs mounted so if I feel the need to stretch out I can...it works great for me.
Which sportbike has mid controls? Yeah, they all technically have mid controls but the pegs (rear sets) are well beyond the 90% knee angle normally associated with mid controls like that of some Harley models. Mine keep my feet well behind my knees on my sportbike.
I appreciate all of your comments. I rode my brother's bike (a 1200 Sportster) once briefly, and I kept missing the pegs when I went to put my feet on them. It was pretty comical.
I'm used to a standard bike posture. Sport bike posture is too extreme for me.
Does the feet forward posture make cornering at speed more difficult or unnatural feeling? My one ride around the block wasn't enough for me to to tell.
No cornering difficutly, get one, you will get over the old feeling, besides, you will be smiling and forgetting you ever rode anything else.
I have mid controls on my Nightster I was thinking of getting forward controls but I feel like I have better control with the mids on the twisties but I want to get highway pegs for cruisin on the highways.Get a Harley you will love it!

It's a different feeling, but with any bike you learn to adjust to the ride you have. To me, turning with forwards feels like banking a plane. If you let yourself go with it, it makes for a pretty cool experience. It's all a matter of trust, really.
Variation of foot position, that's what I love about my bike! The consummate barcaounger. From floor boards to highway pegs, numerous foot positions, never get cramped up again from riding an uncomfortable sport bike.
Mid controls here with highway pegs and I can go all day. I just feel I have more control with the mids so I stayed with 'em instead of forwards.. Nice to be able to switch back and forth when my legs get stiff.

The best part about a Harley is the crash test. You drop the bike at 30mph, let it slide 50-60 feet down the road and then run over, pick it up and continue on your ride. Try that with a BMW or ricer.
Personally I think the feet forward position is almost as bad as the sportbike position for touring to be honest. Something in between is the way to go.
Exactly.
Regarding another poster's comment, HD does seem to have a huge advantage over everything else when it comes to tweaking your ride the way you want it with factory and aftermarket stuff. The investigation continues...
