What is the typical return policy for HD Apparel? I bought a leather Jacket less than a year ago at a dealer 60 miles away and the end of the zipper came off. I tried to take it to a local dealership (new dealer, first experience) and they told me I had to take it back to the dealer I bought it at to return it. They said it would be covered, but they wouldn't send it in. I asked what would happen if i had bought it half way across the country and they just shrugged.
I am concerned that this might be a sign that the new dealership here is not as customer-oriented as I would like (meaning, screw them, I'm not going back. I'll just drive an hour vs. 2 minutes).
That's pretty normal. Usually returns get you "in store credit" from where you bought something.
Not sure how the HD leather warranty works exactly though.
Yep, that's what I would have expected as well. I too am not familiar with the warranty on HD apparel, but I'm sure the place you bought it from would help out more since you'd be in their system and have probably bought more than the jacket from them over the years.
If you're talking about the pull tab on the zipper just get a small key ring and slip it through Had to do that on all my zippers, looks ok too. You said you bought the jacket less then a year ago. How much less? 90 days is about the limit I've seen on clothes returns.
I'd be very surprised if you get any satisfaction at the other dealer either. I took a $20 part back once and it was like they were doing me a favor. I left thankful to get store credit. Let us know how you make out.
HD dealers definitely aren't Home Depot or Wally World when it comes to returns. It's almost like it's coming out of their pocket and maybe it is.
Sure does **** you off though when you're used to liberal return policies of most stores.
same problem happened to me exactly the same.had the jacket 28 days so they wouldnt give me a new one they said they would send it in but had no way of knowen when i would get it back. in other words f#### you.I took the jacket to a boot repair store and had it sewd up,dosent quite kook like it should because there wasnt enough leather to sew up.the zipper heads cutting the leather probally cant read rulers.oh well iam all about aftermarket parts and acc. now
I noticed the other day as I was at the register of my local dealer a sign that said they do not accept returns from other dealers. They must be independent and therefore it is their money. ....not Wally World for sure.
