I had a cage run me off the road by passing another car and coming right at me. Didn't hurt me or the bike, but I was lucky.

Whats the big deal about the lean angle thing... wouldn't you have to consider also the radius of the turn... the speed that you are going... you know, all the physics stuff...

As far as the guy in the pic.... that shoulder drop, I think may have done him in... of course he was probably trying to pour himself a cup of coffee...

Gotta love that site.... even if they DO make your brain hurt.....

BACK on track...
Of course in a curve, by getting yer butt off the seat, and putting your weight to the INSIDE of the turn.. the bike will continue along it's arc, but will lean less,

I figured out my lean angle the other week when taking my ride out of the building. I too now belong to the tip over club. I just leaned to far.

I don't recall where I read it, but I recall reading that they just have a couple of burly guys tip the bike until something touches.

These are maximum lean angles -- they don't have anything to do with load or road curvature or alignment of the planets. The first number is the maximum angle on the left, the second is max on the right. On Harleys the right side number is always lower because of the exhaust. They're good for comparing similar bikes on spec sheets (hmmm... the low rider has less lean angle than the super glide....who'da thought?) They're not appropriate for pinning your survival hopes on or sitting in the living room and deciding how a bike handles.

When **** starts dragging and my peg gets kicked up I know I leaned to far.

That's how I measure my lean angle.
