Harley Superiority?
Interestingly, I owned a Honda that was made in Ohio, but could not ride with "American-made only" groups. When I pointed out that my bike was made in Ohio, by Americans, they pointed out that the parts were foreign. I reminded them that many of their/our H-D parts are too, but that did not matter.
H-D has effectively marketed its brand. Part of that marketing is the lifestyle and the deep brand loyalty. The marketing is so good that it has sold itself to folks who, for whatever reason, chose another brand. That is great marketing!!
Bottom line, ride what you love. You want to only ride with your next-door neighbor, or only ride with other people with H-D's, or only people of your religion, or people who are fire fighters, or vets, or you will ride with everyone who rides a motorcycle, you have nothing to apologize for. Everyone has their preferences.
Me, personally, will wave to all riders - except those on scooters or Can-Ams!
Trikes, yes, mopeds, no. Am I an elitist. I don't think so, but if you as the dude who was on the scooter I am! Folks come in all flavors. If they think they are less then me or cooler than me, they are probably right. Either way, it's their problem/delusion, not mine.
One thing I will always do: Stop when I see someone on the side of the road, regardless of what they ride or drive. That is about being helpful. This old Scout can't get that lesson out of his head.
I say: Whatever floats your boat.
It is self explanitory...you were in Arkansas.
