If you do ride, be sure to wear something that will break the wind on your legs. Jeans alone won't cut it. I like ski or snowmobile over pants or leather chaps over my jeans.

If the battery is old and was discharged, I'd replace it before I left, especially in the weather. Most auto parts stores will have one. I like Interstate batteries. Harley charges a fortune imho.
Wal Mart carries a really good float charger for under $20 that has all of the connectors you need. It's a Black and Decker brand. I have several of them for bikes, riding lawnmower and farm equip. and they are just great.

He said the battery was new this summer, the last time it was serviced. If it is dead now, you think it is shot? I have no problem buying a new one, but if that one is still good.....
