I know this is another one that has probably been asked a thousand times, so I am apologizing up front. I got my lottery money today, a.k.a. tax refund, and now have some money to spend on accessories for the ride. I have got to get some saddle bags and looking for a quality set. What brands do you prefer?
If H-D makes bags for your bike I'd get those - i've had 100% good experiences with H-D parts and accessories. The quality is excellent, they FIT the bike properly and are easy to install, etc. In my experience aftermarket stuff is hit and miss as to fitment. They're "close" but not excactly right half the time and they just dont fit or stand up to use like the H-D stuff.
Whatever you decide have fun with your lottery money...
Damn!!! Glad you got a refund. I have to pay about $5500.00 in taxes. They can wait till April 15th for me to send it. Regarding the bags, I agree that the HD will probably be the best fitting, but like everything else, they come at a high price. I would also encourage you to check out the bags from leatherneckjims.com. I have heard many good things about them.
I have a set of Boss Bags and am very happy with them. They have 45,000 miles on them and still look good. They hold quite allot and you can tie a leather jacket down using the saddlebag straps. They go on and off in about 30 seconds.
I have oem on the sporty since they were on it when I bought it amd thinking about bags fro these guys http://www.chilhowee.net/ for my lowrider since they are about the same price as hd and are way bigger than what oem are. I have their crash guards chaps and love them
