Default Special tool?

I need to move my auxillary lights forward a notch to make room for a fairing. The shop manual calls for the use of a Snap-On Flare Nut Socket. Is this really neccessary? or can I use something else to get the job done? If so, what? Thank you

Take a socket and using a Dremel tool you cut a notch in the side of the socket. This is necessary to slip over the wire without pinching it off. Then carefully use it !

I'm pretty sure it's a 9/16" that you need.

MNPGRider has it right.
Get a cheap deep well socket and cut a slot in it.
