How does it affect resale????? I wouldn't buy a Harley with anything but a HD engine. At least you can buy HD parts all over the place. Try finding parts for a RevTech in some of the remote parts of the USA or Canada. Also the RevTechs are foreign made engines nothing like de-valuing a HD with a substandard engine.
Custom Chrome is a distributor of aftermarket parts from a number of manufacturers. They also distribute their own parts under the Revtech brand name. Kinda like Sears sells tools under the name "Craftsman".

When it gets to "outside supplier" it's difficult to tell who all is involved....
I don't know all that much about RevTech engines, as most guys I know that go with 'aftermarket' engines usually run a crate S&S with excellent results.
One guy I know installed a EVO style RevTech engine (100ci I believe) and didn't have any problems for the first 15,000 or so miles. Then the engine developed piston slap, then problems with valve guides, and then it started leaking at various locations. I don't know, maybe he just got a lemon.
If it were me I would prefer a crate S&S before going with a RevTech of unknown origin.
