I am considering buying a GPS unit for my bike. The Zumo unit sold at the harley dealers has a lot of nice features but it's super expensive at $800, plus another $40.00 for the mounting bracket.
Does anyone know of another unit with motorcycle specific features plus the weather/vibration resistant?
Thanks in advance.

You can buy that same unit on line for approx $500 and another $40 for the holder
Get the Garmin 660 that just came out. Lists for $800, but I have seen it online for $630. It comes with all mounts (cycle and car) and supercedes the 550 that HD put their name on (and added $150 just for that) I have the Zumo 550 and like it a lot.
Search the web for Zumo 450's or 550's if you need bluetooth. Hundreds cheaper than the HD model. I love my Zumo. Wouldn't even consider a different model.
About the only difference between the HD model and the Zumo 550, is that the HD model comes preloaded with all of the dealerships in the US.
You can download them and install them in the 550.
The 450 was recently discontinued, but is still available from Amazon for a good price, similar to the 550 but doesn't have bluetooth or XM Radio capability.

Bought a used Garmin Quest with handlebar bracket and used it all last summer. Only drawback was the battery didn't last real long when I deviated from the planed route. Found a kit to hardwire it and a great mount over the winter and can't wait to try them out. Looking at a quest !! Rebuilts are under 150.00. They are both compatible with HOG Trip Planner. Total rig under 250.00 Works for a cheap bastidge like me.
