Im from PA..if you're out in the eastern part I took mine through Shochs Harley Davidson..Over in the DMV Parking lot..what you can expect is to learn a lot..If you have never ridden before this class will teach you a lot of things that will help you on the road..I took it and it was by far the best thing I have ever done, some things in the class you probably would of never thought of if you were to do it by yourself..Good Luck
Well worth your time I did the MSF beginner and advanced. Rest the night before and go with and open mind. You will be suprised what you don't know or forgot.
Just do what the instructors tell you and you should do fine. When they say look where you want to go and not where you're going take their advice. It works.
Keep your head and eyes up, knees in, especially on the hard stops. I felt alot of pressure on test day simply because I didn't want to have to retake the course. But everyone in my class passed.
I think the hardest part of the test for me was the decreasing radius turn. I kept trying to handle it like a constant radius. Didn't get the concept at the time.
I think an extra day could easily be added to the class to allow for more practice time. You only get a couple tries at each skill and if you're having trouble with one, oh well.
I took both the MSF and the Riders Edge. personal opinion is that the harley class was better and more thorough. just be patient and you will learn something. beginning is very slow but not all people in the class are at the same riding level..so, they start from the basics and go up. Still worth the time.

Learned a lot from the MSF course even after riding for over 10 years. had a blast doing it too. Almost want to go do it again so I can hammer on one of those 250s all day long without getting laughed at.
By the end of the course, you will know the meaning of the following phrases that the instructor kept hollering at "everyone" on the course:
1) Turn Your Head
2) Look UP, NOT DOWN
3) PUSH PUSH PUSH
4) Squeez the brake, DONT GRAB IT
You will have a blast, and I guarantee you will learn a few things. Good Luck and let us know how it turns out.
