I wear one because I like the styling of it regardless of its origins. If the smurfs would have invented it -then I guess I would be wearing a smurf helmet.
I ride the "retro styled" <-air quotes) Cross Bones and although I also own a modular SyMaxII full face helmet, I feel like a Cylon (from Battlestar Galactica) just finishing up his shift and heading home after work.

Reminds me of a conversation I had with a stupid woman a few years ago. She made a comment that she thought it was just horrible to raise cattle just to kill them.
