Did a search for this and found very little. I have a half helment. How do these things work with that type of helmet. Is the HD any good? Anything better on aftermarket?
I just bought the HD Kevlar helmet and don't want someone else to own it
We have the HD models on the down tubes of our bikes, and they work well. They will work on the down tube if you have a half helmet. A full face will require mounting somewhere else for there to be room for the helmet.
The HD locks work well. You can also get a brake lock and reminder cable. Just run the cable through the helmet D-ring before you put the lock on the front brake.
I put Ky IsoGrips on each bike (02 Dynsa, 05 Sportster, 06 Street Glide). On the Dyna & Sporty, I put "bar-enders" which are keys for both sides, On the SG I put a new end lock made just for IsoGrips. Found them at both EBay and Eastern Performance (Maryland near me). Both work great. Helps with the illusion that if the bike were stollen, you would have to cut off the helmets before ridden away. Juat another step and time to discourage the theft.
Only complaint, the bar enders can lose the end if you don't push it all the way on when puttng it back.
Found the bar-enders in Daytona and the second pair on the web. Neither type is cheap, but work well.
