Anyone heard of this or anything? When I was at the dealership today I saw a Dyna that was all blacked out like a Night Train but it was definitely a Dyna. Couldn't find anyone free to ask about it so I'm not sure if this was a custom or what? It looked sweet though.
Ricky,
Why yes, and I thought the guy was plum loco. It was at Republic back in January there was some type of bike show / event going on and we just happened to be in town and stopped in for a little while. As we had my son and his girfriend at the time with us, we were on 4 wheels (cage as some would say), but walk around and checked out the bikes. I saw a Night Train and was checkin it out when I saw the shocks on the back... About that time some guy says 'Hey, you ride?' Of course I responded 'Hell yeah, a Night Train, but a softail one'. He laughed as he frequently gets confusing looks and said that you can custom order a Dyna Night Train, although it is titled as a Dyna Wide Glide Custom and took forever and he says it was a 2003 but wasn't received until 2004 and wasn't happy about that part.
I thought it looked good, but when he started it I was amazed how much the engine shook around while idling... definetly rubber mounted.
Was the one you saw a Sport type or more of a Wide Glide type?
Sounds like a Super Glide Sport in Black. I looked at a couple of 04 "leftovers" of this model before I bought the Sportster. Nice looking in the all black.
Isn't the Sport more upright and less rake than the Wide Glide? I think the Wide Glide has the 21" tire and the Sport carries a 19"... I am not sure if they have different shocks as well...
I was at the dealer the other day and they had nitetrain (pewter) with progressives on the back, black powder coated triple trees and lowers, black rims and 14" apes. Msrp 20k. They called it a NightBob.
The FXDX (SuperGlide Sport) and FXDXT (SuperGlide T-Sport) were pretty much blacked out....black engine, black bars, black exhaust, etc.....both had the best suspension of any Harley offered....they were both Dynas and the difference between them was that the FXDXT came stock with saddlebags and fairing....neither are produced anymore...the FXDX ran from 1999 to 2005....not sure about the FXDXT.....the rake is a few degrees less than the FXDWG and FXDL....otherwise a SuperGlide....I've had 3 and I plan to keep the one that I have now as my second bike....dual front brakes, tach, etc.....nice bikes and no longer made.....check eBay for deals because a lot of people don't know what they are.
