Default Hadda ride home with no headlight tonite..

Been riding all day. All was good. Stop at a Golden Corral and ate before going home. Get out in the parking lot and start riding out and no headlight...Got about 25 miles to go...So I tucked in (not my shirt) behind some cars and used they're lights. Was'nt bad until I ran out of cars to use about 8 miles from the house. Used the emergency flashers the rest of the way.
It sucked.
I think I have another bulb in my stock headlight somewhere....it'll be fixed by noon tomorrow.

I had a bulb burn out on me on the freeway at night before. I could see fine, I was concerned about others seeing me though.

So how long did the bulb last? I am coming up on three years on the same bulb. The way they are set up now to have the daytime running of the headlight may be shorting out the life. Maybe something to keep in one of the bags just in case. Would really suck if out in the country and no lights suddenly.

Do the headlights in the Harley's have dual elements in them. Just curious if the brights would work and get you home in a pinch. I never thought of this before. Obviously could get you in a jam pretty quick.

Used a Big A$$ flashlight once, strapped it on with bungee cord. Still couldn't see but at least they could see me "somewhat".

I was thinkin the same thing . Did both elements burn out ? Maybe it's a loose plug or something simple like that . Glad to see Bob made it home alright though .
