Very first highway ride on my first bike, way back in 79, I was out in the country rounding a curve and a big *** crow bounced off my chest! Hurt like hell and near sent me into the ditch.
I had 2 friends riding behind me. They said it came up out of the ditch on the other side of the road and right into me.
No duck, but I had a large limb from a tree drop just 50 feet in front of me accross the road acouple of weeks ago. It broke into several sections and I was able to manuver through the pieces. Whew!

My brother in-law quit riding years ago after he bought his then new CB750 Honda . He was riding in broad daylight , and was hit square in the chest by an owl . Took him right off the back of the bike , and laid him down in the middle of the road . He's never been back on a bike since then .

I think he made a mistake...
I took this incident as a sign of good luck. I've now been riding for 30 years and, though I have been hit twice by cars and dropped a bike once, I have never been hurt.
Can't imagine the karma he gave up after getting laid out by a big ole hoot owl!

That sounds pretty Fowl... I was out on a ride today and saw a Mallard thinking about flying over us and he started flying into a stall about 40 feet off the ground, flying almost at a stand still. He looked pretty funny just trying to fly in place. I cracked my throttle and he ducked his head down and flew the other direction.
