"The Lake County (Ill.) State's Attorney's office said this morning it's looking into criminal charges against a woman who this weekend allegedly was painting her fingernails as she drove and fatally struck a stopped motorcyclist."
Condolences to Anita Zaffke's family.
As for the car driver, Lora Hunt, seriously, who ARE these people? Painting your nails while driving? I have a friend who used to read the newspaper when he was driving to work. He didn't see anything wrong with it until he got into an accident one day. The comments below the story are a good read, but beware of the "tyler" post, in which he blames the motorcyclist for ... umm ... I guess riding a motorcycle.
Some days I think bringing back the stockade in the town square for people like Lora Hunt wouldn't be such a bad idea.
yeah, I read the comments....a couple were saying it was the lady's fault for riding a motorcycle.....i.e. becasue she was riding a motorcycle, she deserved it.

Some people need to be shot and fed to the pigs.

It's better to tie them up and feed them to the pigs while they're still alive.
Why is this sort of thing called an accident?? The auto driver might as well have been wearing a blindfold.
If I were to put on a blindfold and drive on the roads and hit someone, how is that an accident. The action is purely
intentional.
"An accident is a specific, identifiable, unexpected, unusual and unintended external action which occurs in a particular time and place, without apparent or deliberate cause but with marked effects."

I tell my wife all the time if someone hits we with no fault of mine involved, they better hope to hell they kill me or the law will be in my hands until the authorities show up which would be a good 5 minutes. That's all the time I need with whoever it is one on one. Male, Female, young, old, black, white, whatever...When it comes to beatin' someone's ***, I don't discriminate. Hope the nail painter burns in hell when her number is rung up by the man. It would be an "accident" too when my size 13 and my fist went through her head.
