Oh for petes sakes... it's just a pair of chaps. Don't be embarrassed... cause no one really cares. Just go try em on and buy a pair that fits you. Maybe bring your bike along so you can sit on it with them on to see how comfy.

Just promise all of us on this forum that you always ride with yer jeans underneath. No bare azz ok!! Or we'll have to hunt you down.

I personally don't own a pair, but I have friends who do and as i said... no one really cares.

i wasnt worried about what i look like. Someone brought up how people just buy them to be billy badass biker and i was just saying i wasnt getting them for that because i really dont like the looks of them anyway...im getting them for the purpose that they serve. The emberassment comes from the 21' thigh...and im a guy! lol but anyway...found some sizing charts and most of them are saying that im a small in the thigh. Now...im asuming by the fact that they are basically ment to be cut that they going to be plenty long enough for me?

Most all chaps end up getting cut off at the length you want even the tall guys. Iam 6ft 1 and i had to cut about 4 inchs off of mine when i bought them my thighs were big so i took the waist to a local amish leather worker and he hooked me up on the adjust ment there by cutting the seam at the belt and pushign the belt back in the chaps and sowing it back up. Thus giving me all kinds of adjustment and if i get fat i can cut it back open and pull more belt out. I need to take them back and have him fit the legs tighter as they are flapping around so i want to tighten them up by my boots. I only wear them in the spring and fall but iam in ohio just got home from work tonight at midnight from a 40 mile ride home and it was 42 ill take my chaps anyday on a night like that

Follow the sizing chart as much as possible and maybe go 1 size bigger. It would be better if you found a local dealer and tried some on. I had to try on about four different pair before I got a good fit, most of them were too tight in the thigh (I have skinny legs) and way too long. After I found the right thigh fit I had them hemmed for length. Allow room for insulated chaps or long johns too.

ok, so i might want to bump it up to a medium or so? I plan on doing as much winter riding as possible....so the long john deal would probably apply.

When i got my set i about **** i had to buy a 4xl just to get them to zip on my thighs. and i don't think i got big thighs but i guess the leather makers do. iam only 6ft1 and at that time 260 down to 230 now and there getting really loose.

I highly reccomend DO NOT ORDER them. As stated above, buy in person so you can try them on. I also would have been sol had I ordered online. I had one of the girls at the dealer zipping them up on me. Dang that was tough.

You can buy chaps that have a removable insulated liner, that's what I have and with long johns added I stay pretty comfortable down to 35 degrees. I have a cheap pair with no lining I wear in spring and I dont wear any chaps in the summer because it's too hot here in Arkansas.
