Default chaps

This is teribly embarrassing lol but i wanna get a pair of chaps for the longer rides, day trips, and what not... now, ive been told you measure the thigh, and dont worry about the length and waist. However....my thigh is only about 21 inches...and i have a 34" inseam. Im a very tall, and very lanky person...would the "worry about the thigh, and trim the lenth" rule still hold true for me?

If you go to a good leather supply store that caters to bikers , they will "fit you .

The beauty of leather is that its easily cut and tailored to fit.

man did you open the flood doors bringing up chaps. As toasted stated, a good leather shop or a good dealer (if you happen to be by one) will set you up. It is usually a safe bet tho that if the thigh fits you can adjust the waist and cut off the bottom. They sure help on the cold days and the bird guts wash off easy also.

Half of RUBs and posers will rag on ya for wearin' "assles" chaps, the other half are wearin' 'em themselves cuz they think they're cool "bikers." The rest of us just wear 'em cuz they protect us from the asphalt. So f*ck 'em if they say anything, they're wannabes.

With that said, , try and find a good leather shop in your area. Where are ya, anyway? It doesn't say in your profile. There's a few good leather shops in my area. I'm sure there's probably one around you, too.

I really think it doesn't matter what anyone else may think. As long as you don't forget to wear pants under the chaps...

when it's raining, or when it's 40 degrees, they don't feel very retarded. They feel warm. Leather pants, are normally made from thinner leather, you don't want pants. If you want protection but don't like the looks of chaps, there are some blue jean style pants out there, with kevlar built in them. Try "dragginjeans.com" for another option. I've never had the jeans, so I don't know a damn thing about them, just giving you a choice.

Regarding what you asked, no, they are not saying order them and then go to a leather shop, they are saying go to a leather shop and have them sell you a pair that you can try on and adjust fit. Or at least that what's my adhd brain thought I read...
You can cut the length off with scissors, the waist band is adjustable, the thigh is not. Have fun, ride lots and stop worrying about what you look like, this ain't a fashion show...
