Default waterproof boots

I am sick of my feet getting soaking wet everytime I ride in a little rain. I don't know if I want the Harley rain gators. I haven't seen a pair in person yet, but from the looks of them in the pics, they look bulky and uncomfortable. I am looking for recommendations.

Waterprrof boots tend to be VERY hot in my experience , do the gators. Just no way for totoally waterproof boots to breathe. Best suggestion is water resistant , I'd look at belleville boot , a primary supplier to all military branches.

I got the Tourmaster rain boot cover last year for about $25. Rode 9+ hours in the rain to Milwaukee and my feet were about the only thing dry. My buddy was sticking the hotel hair dryer in his boots to dry them out.

I need to get a good rain suit now. The $50 one from eBay doesn't cut it

I have a pair that I bought at Cabella's. They have Gore-Tex and and they keep my feet totally dry when it's wet and with a good pair of socks they stay nice and toasty in the winter. I've worn them in temps as low as 13 degrees for 80 miles and though my feet did get chilly, they never got to the point of being real uncomfortable. I've never had a problem with them being too hot in the summer although I don't get to ride that much in the summertime.

Plenty of boots out there with Gore-Tex in the lining. It really works.

But even with Gore-TEx in your boots, look for a pair with the fewest seams. And then give them a good waterproofing treatment (I use this silicone based stuff designed for leather). It really works.

During a field ex in OKINAWA, saw a buddy of mine was standing in a puddle of ankle-deep water. Brought this to his attention and he did not even know his feet were under water.

I asked him what brand of boots he had on? He said Danner Arcadia boots, made me a believer on the spot: http://www.danner.com/product/unifor...c=false&page=1
