Have not been down to Myrtle Beach since I was stationed at Fort Bragg in 1983. Where'd all those golfers come from???

The wife and I went to MB Bike Week and had a blast. We rented in Surfside and stayed south most of the week. Lots of time rotating between the bars in Murrell's Inlet. We also ate most our meals down south. We took a stroll up the North Myrtle Beach to check out the vendors at the Mall and Barefoot Landing.

During one of the many rainy periods, we went up to Conway. On the way back (rain cleared), we rode 501 and 17 (business) through the city limits. I counted about 60 bikes we could see on the road, gas stations, bars, restaurants, hotel parking lots, etc. It was dead.

The crowds down south were no where near the numbers reached during normal spring rallies. This one may have had fewer people than the last fall rally. Still enough folks to have a great time. Made it nice traveling as the traffic moved fairly well all week, til about Friday afternoon.

The cops outside Myrtle Beach were not hassling bikers unless they brought attention to themselves. I saw a lot more cagers pulled than I did bikes.

I did not boycott bike week, just Myrtle Beach. I followed the motto printed on the new t-shirts......FU Myrtle Beach, not a dime in 09!

I am already looking forward to going back in the Fall.

Went down Friday came back today. Had an ok time, I stayed in MB city, only saw one bike get pulled over the whole time I was there and he was riding on a crotch rocket. My first time going, but I could tell there weren't as many bikes down there as there probably usually are. All in all I had a good time. It is what you make it. Got soaked on the way home. Bought some cheap frogg toggs, while I was there, still wet on my legs and crotch. Oh well, you get what you pay for.

Rode down on Monday with 3 friends. Looked like turn out was way down. Suck, Bang, Blow wasn't elbow to elbow like it can be. MB H-D vendors and crowds also seemed to be way down as well as Barefoot Landing and Myrtle Beach Mall. Broadway at the Beach was like a ghost town.

Big Dog dealer at one of the North Myrtle Beach vendor sites said the state of South Carolina boys came thru and inspected for permits to sell. He said it was the same type of permit he has been issued for 15 years and that the state usually turns its head to the fact that technically he couldn't sell bikes. State didn't turn its head this year and closed down and fined some of the out of town vendors. Vendor we talked to said he won't be back.

Guess Myrtle Beach city must have asked for state help to try and kill future rallys.

I rode my bike down to Ocean Isle Beach and only went as far south as North Myrtle(to Bass Pro Shop). Never saw Myrtle Beach prpoer. There were a lot of bikes at the N. Myrtle dealership but we did not stop. There were quite a few bikes on the north side at Beach House HD...I really don't know how it compared to past years...I don't care for the rallies anyway. I just wanted to take the bike for a good ride and it was nice...rode to Charlotte and south to Pageland S.C., then took SC9 to the coast. Never got really wet until I got 8 miles from home, then mother nature caught me in Chimney Rock and wet my butt!

Was down from Friday morning till today. Had a blast, it was obvious where Myrtle Beach City limits started. THey had cops sitting there and would let you turn around if you missed the turn. The cops were not REALLY enforcing the law. They were cool. I heard the attendance was way down but it was my first one. For the ones that didn't go because of Myrtle Beach you still missed a fantastic time in Surfside, Murrels INlet and N. Myrtle. We had a blast and will go back in the fall. I"m not going to let one jackass ruin my fun. Thanks SBB(original & 4-corners), Irongate, Pink Pony, Lakewood Campground, Broken SPoke, Texas Roadhouse for haveing us and all the other i can't remember. We will be back again!

Several of us rode down yesterday to North Myrtle Beach and to the mall. We then rode up to Shallote to the new dealership. We had a good time and did not get too wet.

I will boycott the city of Myrtle Beach, but there is no use in hurting the businesses outside the city limits. They have nothing to do with the assine city council.

Attendance was REALLY down from past years. The businesses in MB are mad because they didn't make any money. The IDIOT mayor is now trying to blame the biker boycott as the reason why, not because of the BS they pulled.
Met some friends at a diner tuesday morning and there were only 12 people in the place usually it's packed with riders
