Low speed practice is good but you ARE wearing on the clutch so I wouldn't do it a lot. IMO
The figure eight just gets you in the habit of turning your handlebars both ways instead of just the way you are comfortable with. You can't wear out a Harley Big Twin clutch. Driving those drills is what they are made for.

No sure, since I am new to biking. I do enjoy precision driving with Jeep when crawling over ROCKS. Suspended on rock cliff with 1000 ft fall if I slip my clutch excites me. I think I enjoy the technical challenge of precision riding too. I hope this skills will enhance my confidence and accident avoidance technique. I make practicing Figure 8 fun.

Yeah, I guess the only thing these bikes ARE good for is parading around at the rallies. Need good clutch and brake control getting that baby on and off that trailer.

Agreed! One thing I've experienced many times through the years is the need to perform the good ol 180 turn. We can either do it with confidence or we can have the whole world laughing at us as we try to paddle walk the bike around. I still need practice but it's way better than it used to be!

Ride Safe,
Steve R.

I think it's great you're practicing. The more comfortable you get with low speed maneuvers (1st gear) the better. Enjoy...
