Well, don't rent one unless you are ready to buy one. I've been thinking about going touring for a while and rented a '09 Road King from Eagle Riders last weekend. I loved it so much I had a new RK by Thursday. I'm loving the King! I now know there's a reason its called the King.
I just bought an 09 EG in March and on my last visit to the same dealer earlier this month they offered me a choice of any bike I wanted to take for a ride. I chose a Softtail custom and now I can't get the bike out of my mind. These dealers are good.
your officially a"OLD MAN" or "GRAMPS" if your seeing the positives on a ugly *** tank like a so called roadking or bagger ride. if your a softail dyna guy yer probably a suberb dwelling weekend warrior family guy desperately holding onto their idea of "COOL". the only rides that look cool (as in gets hot chicks sniffn aroun) HD makes get no respect from the so called "HARDCORE" riders(i.e. greybeards, family guys and 40+bar **** hasbeens) and thats the VROD,sportster line and buell line. sleek mean and the chicks dig em so ride what you will but i like hot chicks staring an not old hasbeens.

To the OP-you're so right. I rented an EGC on April 8 and bought one on the 22nd. Never looked back. Haven't rented or test ridden any others, either.
And to the previous poster, who gives a damn what other people like. My money couldn't care less what other people think. I like my bike. If nobody else in the whole world doesn't, whoop-de-do. Back on your meds...
