In fact, I found a couple pix on my 'puter of me wearing my glasses.

The goofy 'Myspace' type pic below is at night and you can see that my lenses are clear while the other goofy pic is in the sun.

Also, which company said they could do you right the first time w/ no distortion? even if you obviously don't want to take on that expense after the fact, those of us shopping now might benefit to know who else to consider that may have a better process...

I'd like to know some of those answers, and I hope some of the questions help you, as well as others' posts. Let us know how it turns out, or if you learn anything about better questions to ask before buying next time. Thanks.

I have sort of a wide head, and a high/flat prescription. The only frames my local eye doc can do for me are either an insert, or a frame too small for my head. I've talked to other local places who even claim to do high rx motorcycle glasses, but they don't sound too confident about their process for what I want, or can't do it at all. So for the pro-eye-doc people, that doesn't work for all of us, since a lot of docs work w/ a certain lab that may not have the process/equipment needed to do what we need done, and may not be comfortable dealing w/ a third party lab, or jack up the price so high it's not even possible, might as well get lasik at that point.

For my rx, I've talked to several of the online companies, and the only one that seems to have any true confidence in their process for wrap frames w/ high rx (-5.25 sphere both eyes for me) is heavyglare.com, I've talked to sportrx, rx-safety, anysunglasses, and others. If anyone else has suggestions, I'd appreciate it.
If you have a wide head the SG1's may be a good choice for you.
They are expensive though.

Keep the ideas coming. Wish I could afford Chrome Hearts. Just a bit out of my price range. Those are for Ozzy. But even if I could I know I'd spend that money on my bike instead.

The WileyX XL-1 normally come with 2 interchangeable lenses and fixed foam. However, if you get them with a perscription the lenses are fixed and the foam is removable. Pop it out if driving the cage or if riding on a calm day.

I have the Wiley-X Romer II's. They are a wrap-around style and do not have the foam inserts, which I can't stand, BTW.

I have had several pair of prescription sunglasses.
Panoptics were o.k. , but they look funny and the foam wears out. I didnt' really like the foam anyway.
Most of the regular glasses don't fit tight enough to keep the wind out.
The very best I ever had were from Sportrx.com. They got my rx perfect and they are the best sunglasses I have ever owned. They will only sell you the frames that fit your rx , some precriptions wont allow a big curve in the lens. As soon as I got the first pair, I ordered two more for spares.

Believe it or not I bought a pair of the HD sunglasses with the bigger lenses and they work pretty well without any foam. My Bobsters had smaller wrap around frames but i had to wear a strap and the foam to get them to seal. These HD glasses have surprised me (my first pair of "cheap" sunglasses after getting lasic).

Actually, I ordered the SG-1s going by their site info which said they could do my prescription on those glasses. I never e-mailed them first about it, and I guess I'm paying the price now for it. I did give them my PD, I specifically asked for it when I went to pick up my prescription at my last optometrist.

I'm in discussion with them right now about it, they wanted to see the exact prescription the glasses were cut to, so I went to a local optician to have the exact prescription on the glasses and it's off on top of the fishbowl problem (PD is about 2mm off on each side, there's cylinder/axis on an eye that had none on my original prescription, the axis is off by 6 degres on the eye that did...). Not very impressed to say the least... I'll see what they say about all this.

The guys who said they could cut the lens for wrap around frames were a local business, so I doubt it could be much help for you.

Guess I'm still stuck with my dirt bike googles for now...

For those of you who made comments about the foam backed frames....What is it about them you disliked? I have an eye appointment next Wednesday and that is what I was going to order....
